MY FAMILY

As I am not married, I consider my family to be my mother and all my siblings, in addition to my son, Dwayne.

Dwayne was born on December 31, 1979. I had hoped, with all my heart, for a girl, but fortunately for both of us, I accepted him for being a boy when he came into the world and amazingly, I am now glad that he is a boy.

Dwayne is now 23 years old and he resides in Boca Raton, Florida. He is currently studying at Florida International University (FIU). He also works part time, in order to finance himself. He migrated to Connecticut, USA at the age of 13, and he completed his High School education at Litchfield High, also in Connecticut. After he graduated from High School, I took him to Florida, as I thought it would be more convenient to having him there. I am happy about that decision.

Dwayne will be engaged next year. He has a steady and adorable girlfriend named Kelly.

My mother, Veronica, resides in Canada. Everyone thinks she is a workaholic. She is in close and constant contact with all her children.

The three boys, Donovan, Steve and Sheldon, also live in Canada and although they are adults, she still takes care of them as if they are still children. Sheldon, the baby, got married this August. The photo below shows Sheldon and his wife, Sherry Ann.

My three sisters, Dolly, Dimples and Charmaine live in the U.S.A. – Dolly and Dimples in New York and Charmaine in Florida. We all have a very good relationship. We meet at least once a year, either in Jamaica, Florida or New York. This Christmas it will be in Florida, at Charmaine’s house.

With the exception of Dimples, we all have our own families. Dolly has 2 girls and Charmaine has a boy, and incidentally, she’s now pregnant. Sheldon and Steve have a boy each and Donovan has 2 girls.
