MORE ABOUT ME... I
have 5 different sides to me. The
first is Donna, who, I think, is not real.
She tried to live up to the expectations of her mother, her
mentor, her teachers, and her siblings.
Donna is a first child, and as such, a great deal of
responsibilities was thrust upon her at a very early age.
She is domesticated, demure, kind and shy.
She has always felt stifled, as if there was someone inside of
her screaming, terrified, and trying helplessly to get out. One
of Donna’s alter egos is Jewel. Jewel
is daring, vulgar, loud, defiant, fearless, and does everything that is
in contravention to the norm. She
knows no shyness and she is impatient, with a searing temper.
She has regular fights with Donna, and seems to win all the time. Rachel
is another personality, who I think is pathetic.
She thinks that she can be the perfect human being, doing, saying
and thinking everything that is “right”.
She seldom comes out, and oftentimes when she does, she is
severely beaten and bullied by Jewel.
Jewel is always vigilant, for fear that Rachel will “come
out” and spoil things for her. However, there are times when Jewel becomes tired and
burdened with life in general, and also by the tremendous degree of
energy she exudes to remain active.
It is at this time that Rachel will quietly emerge and take over.
This, however, is usually short-lived… not more than 2 days. Then
there’s Patti, who is obsessed with her weight.
She wants so much to be slim, that she sometimes goes on a
‘starvation’ diet. She
will do this for months at a time and lose a considerable amount of
weight, becomes relatively slim and is happy with herself for a while.
Julia is another persona, who is always hard on herself. She tells herself that she is no good, that she doesn’t want people to like her, and by extension, drives people away when they try to get close to her. I think she does not think she is worthy of anything that is good, and she ‘punishes’ herself when things do not seem to go right.
